Food on the Move: 5 Gainesville Food Truck Favorites

By Kacey Finch

If you find Thanksgiving dinner a little too stationary, you’re in luck.

Gainesville is home to a hot food truck scene, featuring several rallies a year. In fact, the High Dive, located in downtown Gainesville, hosts a food truck rally every six weeks. The food truck vendors rotate constantly, making the food scene always exciting and new. One can find anything they might be craving – from pizza and tacos to shaved ice and donuts.

Don’t know where to start? Here’s a list of five Gainesville food truck favorites:

Halo Potato Donuts

Donuts plus potatoes equals an unlikely match made in heaven. Stop by Halo Potato’s new brick-and-mortar or check out their social media to find the best donuts in Gainesville.

Cilantro Tacos

Did someone say Taco Tuesday? Subside those taco cravings with the fresh, tasty Cilantro Tacos. In addition to being on wheels, the family-owned Mexican food joint is also located in Newberry.

Soup to Nuts Food Truck

If you haven’t tried a pulled pork mac and cheese grilled cheese, run, don’t walk, to the Soup to Nuts Food Truck. Need I say more?

Humble Wood Fire

You can never go wrong with pizza. Check out this mobile wood fired pizza if you’re looking to switch up your normal pizza routine. Bye, Dominos. Hello, Humble Wood Fire!

Charlie’s Snow Shack

In this Florida heat, sometimes shaved ice is just necessary. Charlie’s Snow Shack, which also has a brick-and-mortar store, is the perfect treat after those fresh tacos or wood fired pizzas.

What’s your favorite Gainesville food truck?
